International efforts to mediate an end to the conflict involving Iran are gaining momentum as several countries step in to promote a ceasefire.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently held a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump and proposed a plan to end the war involving Iran. China, France, and Türkiye have also reportedly contacted Iranian officials in diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions.
Trump has suggested that the conflict could end soon, saying in interviews and public remarks that the war may be entering its final stage and could conclude quickly. His comments have raised expectations for a possible ceasefire.
Russia is seen as a potential mediator because it maintains relations with Iran while also keeping diplomatic ties with Israel. Other countries have also joined efforts to explore a diplomatic solution to the growing crisis in the Middle East.
Iranian officials confirmed that several countries have reached out regarding ceasefire discussions. Iran’s deputy foreign minister said Russia, China, and France had contacted Tehran requesting a halt to hostilities.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke with the Iranian president and said Türkiye is working on diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the war.
Iran indicated it may consider negotiations but insisted that any talks would require a guarantee that attacks against the country will not be repeated.
