Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul will be temporarily closed to visitors on the day of a major BTS concert scheduled near Gwanghwamun next month.
The Cultural Heritage Administration’s palace division announced on its website and social media that the palace will be closed on Saturday, March 21, to accommodate preparations and safety measures for the concert. The historic site is normally open on weekends, but access will be restricted due to event activities.
The performance celebrates BTS’s new studio album ARIRANG and will take place in the Gwanghwamun Plaza area, with live global broadcast planned.
In addition to Gyeongbokgung, nearby institutions such as the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History are considering temporary closure or schedule adjustments for the day. Authorities expect crowds of up to 260,000 and are preparing measures for crowd control and public safety.
