Former U.S. President Bill Clinton on February 27 denied allegations connecting him to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, asserting he had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal conduct.
In statements shared on social media ahead of a private hearing near his New York residence, Clinton said, “I was unaware of the crimes committed by Epstein,” emphasizing that he did not know about Epstein’s illegal acts at the time.
Clinton added that if he had known of such crimes, he would never have accepted a ride on Epstein’s private plane and would have instead reported the situation to authorities.
He also addressed previously released images in government documents that include photos with Epstein, noting that one person shown with a covered face was identified by the Department of Justice as a victim of Epstein’s abuse.
Clinton stressed that his spouse, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has no connection to Epstein and has never met or interacted with him, dismissing related claims.
The remarks come in the context of ongoing scrutiny over documents released by the Justice Department, and Clinton maintains that he had no involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities.
