South Korea’s ICT exports reached a record high in March, surpassing $40 billion for the first time.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT, exports rose 112% year-on-year to approximately $43.5 billion, marking 14 consecutive months of growth and accounting for more than half of the country’s total exports.
Semiconductors led the surge, with memory chips such as DRAM and NAND driving exports beyond $30 billion for the first time on a monthly basis.
Computer and peripheral exports also increased significantly due to strong demand for server storage, while mobile phone exports grew on the back of high-end devices and components.
However, display panels and telecom equipment saw declines amid weakening global demand.
Experts expect the expansion of AI and data center investments to continue supporting semiconductor demand and overall ICT export growth.
